Punjabi School
For: Children Age 4+ and Adults
Days: Saturday
Times: 10:00 - 12:30
Medway Towns Gurdwara Sabha offers Punjabi classes for children. These are held every Saturday (during term time) from 10.00-12.30. The School has been running successfully now for over 35 years with classrooms equipped with the necessary teaching equipment in the annex building, which is attached to the main Gurdwara and has a separate entrance.
We have classes for infants from the age of 4 to attend with parents where learning takes place through play, music and singing. Pupils can join the mainstream classes from age 6 years (year1 in mainstream school). The focus is on developing the reading, speaking and written Punjabi skills and also includes basic teaching of the Sikh history and culture. Children join the school in Class R and progress through the years to Class 5, where they can prepare for taking the GCSE in Punjabi. If your Child would like to learn Punjabi in a friendly, fun and engaging environment please collect an application form from the main office. Completed forms should be returned to the main office.
A separate class is now held for adults that wish to learn or refresh their Punjabi.
These classes are run by highly committed volunteer teachers and helpers. If you would like to help with these classes in any way please contact us via. info@punjabischool.org.uk
